Lace Crochet Table Runner

I wanted to share with you a project that I'm working on that doesn't have to do with my shop or paper goods, but it's another craft I'm really into. I love to crochet! Initially I was a knitter and I've learnt to crochet only a couple of years ago and once I got a hand at it I was amazed how much easier, faster and more flexible it is. I still knit occasionally, but I'm much more into crocheting these days.

The project I'm working on now is one of those that might take you forever, but you don't really mind. I've made couple of granny square projects before and I love how fast it is to make each square and I love the style, but putting the squares together was just killing me. So when I stumbled upon this pattern the first thing I noticed was how easy it is to join the squares plus you join them on the go (I know, you can join normal granny squares on the go too, but I'm not so good at doing something now when I can do it later) and I loved the floral look too. So I picked up the yarn and went for it. I plan it to be a table runner. We have a round table and we use a pretty floral table runner from H&M Home, but I wanted another one so we can swap when the floral one is being washed, or maybe use this one as a party decoration.

First I thought this could be good as a "one square a day" or "one square a week" project. But I'm not that organized just yet, so I work on it when I'm travelling or when I just want a change from working on my shop and orders for a while.

Do you like it? I can share the pattern later on if you'd like to make one too!

  1. It looks lovely! I'm trying to teach myself how to crochet at the moment but not having much success, unfortunately. I'd love to see the pattern though, to save for when I finally get the hang of it!
